Roundup: Marshwood field hockey win sets up showdown By Staff Reports

PORTLAND, Maine — Better late than never.

Locked in a second-half scoreless tie at Derring on Monday, the Marshwood High School field hockey team got goals from Lindsey Poirier, Madison Eastman and Abby Doyle to secure a 3-0 win and improve its Western Maine Class A record to 8-1.

Poirier also had an assist and goalie Cassidy Smith finished with five saves.

Next up is a big one. The Hawks will host unbeaten Gorham (8-0) on Thursday afternoon.

Deering dropped to 4-4-1.
