Great Works School’s First Virtual Veterans Day Assembly

On Tuesday, November 10th, Great Works School held its first-ever virtual assembly!  Staff members and students worked together to create a video of students performing and reading essays and a book.  Students and staff also listened to a recorded interview with guests from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.  All Great Works School staff and students logged into a Google Meet to watch the presentation together.  There were more than 100 people on the call including our in-person classes, remote classes, school board members, and Superintendent John   Caverly.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate and honor our Veterans.  The staff and Principal Jerry Burnell are very proud of their students’ commitment to thanking and honoring our Veterans!  This video is available for students to share with their families and honor our veterans.
