News for the 2019-2020 School Year

August 22, 2019

Hello Central School Families!

I hope that you have all had a wonderful summer! We are so excited to see everyone. I am writing to make sure everyone has all of the important information in one email as we start the school year. As always, please email or stop by if you have any questions at all.

Our sneak peek is on August 28th from 2:30-3:30. This is an opportunity for all students to come and see their classroom and meet their teachers. We will be on hand to answer any of your questions. Bus drivers will also be here to help answer any questions about bus routes. All of the bus information is online at

You can access bus routes and schedules through that link.

Drop-off times and pick-up times and routines remain the same as last year. If you are dropping off your student in the morning, please follow the traffic pattern in the back parking lot to drop off your child in front of the hot top. A staff member will be there to greet your child and direct them to the playground. On rainy days, please drive up to the main entrance and we will direct your child to the gym. We try to get outside in the morning as much as possible! Drop off times begin at 8:05 and our day begins at 8:20. If you need to come into the building, please park your car either in the school parking lot or the library parking lot and walk your child into the main entrance. The parking loop is only for drop offs and we ask that you do not leave your vehicle when in the loop. Thank you for your help!

Students will begin being dismissed at 3:15 every day. Please park in the parking lot or the library parking lot and come to the hot top to meet your student. Students will come out the side entrance and staff members will help them find their approved pick-up person.

Our first early release Thursday will be on September 12th. Students are dismissed at 1:40 on these days. Learning lab sign up forms will be sent home the first day of school. Bus routes often change on early release Thursdays, so please check the portal to see when your student morning pick up time and when your student will arrive home or at daycare.

For any dismissal changes, please send in a note on the morning of the change with your child. It is extremely helpful to have the change in writing so that the classroom teacher is aware of the change as soon as possible. Of course, if there is an emergency, please call the office and we will make sure your child’s teacher is aware of the change. Thank you for your help in making our dismissal run smoothly!

The breakfast and lunch menus and information about our lunch/breakfast program will be sent home the first day of school. The menus are always posted on our the rsu 35 website:

I think that is it for now! Please let me know if I can answer any questions at all. Again, we cannot wait to see our children on that first day of school. Wait until you see our new wonderful prek playground! Our PTO has put so much work into making a very special place for our children to play. Thank you PTO!

        See you soon! Nina D’Aran
