The Grade 5-8 Marshwood Math Teams competed at the annual State Math meet on Thursday, May 2nd at the Portland Expo.

 

The 8th Grade place in 5th Place out of 24 competing teams and was led all year by Jonah Nobel, Helen Willoughby, Riley St.Pierre, Mitchell Vlcek, Ryan Pote, William Sandusky, Leah Maddison, and Sean Williams.

 

The 7th Grade Math Team placed 5th out 24 teams. Outstanding performances by Annika Oberg, Rowan Nabel, Kayley Lin and Kenai Diaz at the State Meet. Other team members who competed all year include: Cameron Leveille, Silja Pope, Jaelin Trager, Mckenzie Shaw, Aoife Coomey, Sadie Lewis and Libby Houghton.

 

The 6th grade math team placed 13th out of 26 schools. Colin Barker, Maddie Getchell, Laura Horvath, Lilly Gennaro, Megan True, and Chyanne Simms all participated at the meet

 

The 5th grade math team placed 11th out of 29 schools. Mary Keene, Jack Dalton, Rogan Boisvert, Pipsa Pope, Connor Grogg and Celia Kundishora were collaborative and vital to the team effort. Celia was the team high scorer! We are all very proud of these students. While at the meet, they had a chance to meet the middle school math teams.  We are proud of our mathletes and look forward to hearing about their continued academic success.
