Last week, Seacoast Media Group announced the fall season nominees for the inaugural Seacoast All-Star Sports Awards — a live, ESPYs-style show at The Music Hall in downtown Portsmouth, honoring the area’s top high school athletes with special guest speaker Danny Amendola of the New England Patriots.

Today, we reveal the nominees for the 2016-17 winter season, which features 98 athletes up for nine awards.

Here’s how it works. Each athlete nominated for a Seacoast All-Star Sports Award has had a letter shipped to their school’s athletics department. Each letter contains an RSVP code, which comes with free admission to the June 22 event. To reserve your complimentary ticket, visit seacoastonline.com/seacoastallstars, choose the “Buy Tickets” option, select “All-Star Nominee” and enter the RSVP code provided at the top of your invitation letter. Additional tickets are available for $25 each for guests (such as parents, siblings and grandparents), and $5 for all students and coaches.

Only those who RSVP on the website will be granted admission into the event. Any nominated fall athlete who has not received a letter should contact their athletic director, or e-mail Seacoast Media Group sports editor Ryan O’Leary at roleary@seacoastonline.com.

The event includes an awards presentation and special appearances by pro snowboarder and Olympic medalist Scotty Lago, as well as Amendola, who in February won his second Super Bowl ring as a member of the Patriots. On June 22, a pre-event party with food vendors and photo opportunities will take place on Chestnut Street starting at 5 p.m. Doors for the main event open at 6 p.m. and seating for the show will begin immediately. The event is scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m. and will end at approximately 9 p.m.

Amendola to speak at inaugural Seacoast All-Star Sports Awards in Portsmouth

Seating at The Music Hall is limited. To ensure admittance, we’re requesting that nominees, guests and the general public RSVP by Friday, June 16. Attire for this event is business casual, or what one might wear to a graduation ceremony.

Player of the Year awards for 25 sports will be presented at the awards show, including the winter and spring. Coach of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year and Team of the Year will also be announced along with several specialty awards. All award winners will enjoy a personal meet and greet and photo opportunity backstage with Amendola.

We look forward to honoring our local athletes for their achievements at the first-of-its-kind Seacoast All-Star Sports Awards, which is being sponsored by Piscataqua Savings Bank and The Center for Orthopedics and Movement.
