CUMBERLAND, Maine — The Marshwood football team improved to 2-0 on Friday night with a 47-14 win over Greely (0-2) in Class B South.
Six different players scored for the Hawks, who led 14-0 after the first quarter and 21-7 at the half following Joseph Taran’s interception to end a Greely drive on the Hawks’ 20.
For Marshwood, Trevor Chase scored with a 39-yard rush and Justin Bryant scored on a 3-yard rush. Following a Kyle Glidden interception that set Marshwood up at Greely’s 15, Matthew Goodwin scored to put the Hawks up 34-7, which is where it stood after three stops.
Also scoring for Marshwood were Tommy Springer with a 9-yard run, Sam Cartmill collected a 46-yard touchdown catch while Glidden rushed 8 yards into the end zone.
Marshwood quarterback Connor Caverly put the Hawks on the board in the first quarter with an 8-yard rushing touchdown.
Marshwood hosts Lawrence (1-1) next Friday night.
