An Apology to the Marshwood Community

September 12, 2014

To All Members of the Marshwood Community,

I want to express my sincerest apology for not taking a moment to recognize and remember all our fellow Americans involved in the tragedy of September 11, 2001.  I take full responsibility for this error.  This morning I apologized to our school community and asked them all to stand in a moment of silence to show our respect for all of us who have been impacted by 9/11, and to lead them in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance.  I appreciate those who reached out to provide their thoughts and communicate their concerns.  I wholeheartedly understand and again apologize as it is inexcusable.  I want to assure our community that everyday we recite the Pledge of Allegiance in honor of our country and freedoms we have as Americans, and yesterday’s omission will never happen again.

Sincerely,

Paul Mehlhorn, Principal
