SCARBOROUGH, Maine — The Marshwood High School baseball team scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning and held on for a 4-2 Western Maine Class A victory over Scarborough on Tuesday afternoon.
Scarborough (0-2) held a 2-1 lead entering the sixth, but Marshwood’s Zack Quintal (two hits) doubled and scored on a Zach Hodges’ hit. Jake Lebel added an RBI single and Luke Stankovich drove in a run with a double to give Marshwood the 4-2 advantage.
Lebel gave up two runs (one earned) on eight hits and one walk. He had four strikeouts and 6 1/3 innings for the win. Hodges relieved him in the seventh and induced a double play to pick up the save.
Marshwood (2-0) finished with six hits. Noah McDaniel drove in the Hawks’ first run.
