See who else was honored during Thursday’s fourth annual Seacoast All-Star Sports Awards show.

One of the highlights of Thursday’s show, which was broadcast free online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick announcing Marshwood’s Steve Freeman and York’s Paul Marquis as coaches of the year.

Freeman, the fifth-year head coach of the Marshwood girls basketball team, saw his Hawks go 19-3 overall and capture the program’s first state title in 25 years. Marquis, who recently stepped down from his post to become the principal at St. Thomas Aquinas, saw his Wildcats go 21-0 in league play and capture the Maine Class A South championship.

Casey Perry, sr., Marshwood

Perry earned the Brud Stover Award as the MVP of the 2020 Maine Class A South girls basketball tournament. Her 14 points led all scorers in the Hawks’ win over Hampden in the Class A state championship game. She’ll continue her playing career at Brandeis University.

Justin Bryant, sr., Marshwood

Bryant was the recipient of the 49th Fitzpatrick Trophy, awarded annually to Maine’s top player. He rushed for 1,522 yards and scored 33 total touchdowns as the Hawks captured their third consecutive Class B title. Also a star linebacker on defense, Bryant will continue his career at Norwich University with an eye on joining the U.S. Marine Corps.
