Sports shorts: Boys Basketball Marshwood 65 South Portland 68

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — The Marshwood High School boys basketball team hung with South Portland all afternoon and had a 3-pointer to tie the game at the end, but it didn’t fall and the Hawks lost, 68-65.

Drew Bartlett made five 3-pointers and scored 24 points for the Hawks, who fell to 6-7 in Western Maine Class A. South Portland improved to 11-2.

Ryan O’Neil added 13 points and Kyle Parmley had nine for Marshwood, which led 39-37 at the half and 49-48 after three quarters.
