Participants in the 2015 Geo Bee

Marshwood Middle School held its 8th National Geography Bee on Tuesday, February 3. This year, seven students participated in the Bee. Over 200 questions about national and world geography were asked, and the students demonstrated a keen understanding of all the topics. In the first seven rounds, 132 of the 147 questions were answered correctly. Our final championship round resulted in a tie and two tiebreaker questions. This year’s winner was determined after correctly answering a question about Greece. Congratulations to Liam Coomey and all the participants of this year’s Bee. Liam has taken the qualifying test for the State Bee and may be the 7th MMS student to compete at the state level with a chance to advance to the National Geography Bee in Washington DC.
