For the past two months, third grade students have been preparing music for their patriotic concerts, held the Wednesday before Memorial Day. These songs centered around the American flag and included the national anthem, a poem entitled "My Name is Old Glory", the traditional song "There Are Many Flags in Many Lands", the anthems of the armed forces and a rousing all -school performance of "You're A Grand Old Flag". The concerts began with the presenting of the colors by our third grade color guard which was new this year but likely to be a new tradition here at Central School.
