Central School's 31st Annual Hike Through History
On May 29th our community participated in our annual Hike Through History. Central School hikers, 3rd grade and Marshwood High School presenters, families and community members enjoyed experiencing "A Day in the Life" of people that came to South Berwick. The hike opened with our cherished guest, Sammie Haynes, singing her song "River in Your Town" with the 2nd graders. Through various historical adventures hikers learned about stagecoaches, sea travel, farming, the ice trade, mill workers, and more. The excitement of the hikers and presenters, the invaluable help from Nicole St. Pierre, OBHS, Mike Zamarchi from MHS, Central School staff, and community members volunteering to help serve lunch made the hike a wonderful day!
