Spinach

Central School students began planting spinach seeds this week to experiment with growing and harvesting spinach in winter months. Mrs. Joy took out several classes across all grade levels and students learned about the challenges of planting seeds when the amount of sunlight is decreasing  - known as the persephone period (10 hours or less of sunlight). Students also graphed their opinion about whether or not they thought that this experiment would be successful. Classes will be engaging in watering and observing their plants throughout the next few months and hopefully share a spinach harvest with the school in winter!
