The PTO generously paid for a mime dance residency with Karen Montanaro. Karen's residency is centered around three principles: energy, focus and imagination. Mrs Tiede and Mrs Smith were being blown away by Karen's innate ability to engage and capture the students from the very beginning. We saw a vast difference in students' ability to stay focused and a new awareness of their bodies in space. We ended the week with a performance by our third graders as well as Dr. D'Aran performing with Karen. It really was magic.
