Monster Mile

The 4th Annual Monster Mile Fun Run Fundraiser was a huge success at Central School this year!  We had a beautiful day for the event on October 29th and students walked/jogged/ran many times around the course, earning jelly bracelets and money for their school.  It is a great event during the month of October that builds community and teamwork while fundraising and getting physically active to earn that money.  This year students raised over $30,000 dollars to use towards teacher grants, assemblies, playground upgrades, and many more things! The PTO could not do it without the support of local business sponsors, parents, and teachers.

The Monster Mile Fun Run is Central School PTO’s ONLY fundraiser of the year and the fourth year running.  All students participate in the event and are encouraged to fundraise to their comfort level.  Almost all of the money goes directly back into Central School to fund teacher grants, assemblies for all grades, outdoor learning space and playground upgrades, and much more.  On the day of the race, students can run, walk or jog to their comfort level.  Classes run together, there is music and everyone gets a bracelet for every lap they do, with 5 laps equaling a mile.  It is a fun-filled day that is made possible by parents, volunteers, teachers, and local business sponsors.  Kids have fun and build community, raise money and have fun getting fresh air and physical activity.  The event is a huge success this year earning $30,000+ dollars.  Fun, friends, and fresh air.  A great way to support Central School.
