A few of our classes had the opportunity to visit with a therapy dog named Annie! Ed-tech Johnna Ward and Annie completed coursework and evaluations through Pet Partners to become trained and certified to visit various institutions including hospitals, nursing homes, and schools. Students in Mrs. Quinlan's first-grade class enjoyed time petting Annie and feeding her treats. She continued on to Ms. Cattrano's second-grade class where students took turns walking outside before she settled into the classroom to enjoy being read to one at a time with the children. Therapy dogs provide a unique and effective source of comfort and confidence in students of all ages and we hope to see these special visitors returning to Central.
