ropes

Recently our fourth graders traveled to the High School to navigate the ropes course.

Students learned about safety protocols, harnessing and how to safely belay. The students did group building exercises, where they supported their teammates.

There are two high elements on the course. Students were offered a “challenge by choice”, where they stretched their comfort level, faced fears and conquered them, to climb 45 feet into the air onto the wire traverse. Once accomplishing that, they took the leap of faith, and jumped from the structure, where they were safely lowered to the ground by a certified belayer.

Students reported the experience as scary, thrilling and exciting!
