Today we gathered as a school to honor the Indigenous people of Maine in our student assembly, we started as a school having a land acknowledgement read by a group of student. Students then with there class had the chance to go sit somewhere on our beautiful campus and listen to nature and reflect on our beautiful land.
Classes were also given the opportunity to read together the book Be A Good Ancestor (written by Gabrielle Prince and Leona Prince) and see and discuss some of the Wabanaki murals Marissa Joly has painted around Maine that help to educate the public about Wabanaki culture.
