The students and staff at Great Works School had an assembly this past Thursday. Students were able to invite members of their family who are veterans to be honored.
Students started by reading "The White Table" by Margot Theis Raven - a touching story that honors POW and MIA soldiers. The 4th and 5th grade chorus and band performed beautiful tribute songs to our veterans.
Students also wrote essay's about veterans that were displayed in our schools lobby for all to read and a few were picked to read their's aloud.
After the assembly students and their guests walked the halls as we clapped for our veterans. They ended their morning here at Great Works School with a breakfast honoring them and thanking them for their service to our country.
