This week members from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard partnered with Great Works School to help lead an exciting STEAM Day filled with hands-on engineering challenges. Fourth grade students designed and tested ice breakers, while fifth grade students engineered anchors to solve real-world problems. Throughout the day, students demonstrated outstanding perseverance and critical thinking as they brainstormed, built, tested, and improved their designs. We are grateful to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard volunteers for sharing their expertise and helping inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators..
4th graders will be worked in groups to do a experiment called Break the Ice.

5th graders will be worked to do a experiment called Anchors Away.
