Four Marshwood High School students won a charity golf scramble Sept. 19 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and donated $600 of their prize money to support student artists and musicians.
Lukas Glidden, Gavin Noonin, Caleb McGinness and Brody Leighton finished 16 under par at the sixth annual golf scramble hosted by Continuum Arts Collective at Pease Golf Course.
The nonprofit, based in North Berwick, provides musical instruments, art supplies, lessons and creative experiences to students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Maine and New Hampshire.
The team won a $1,000 cash prize, and each student received a $100 gift card to the Pease Golf Course pro shop. The students donated $600 back to the organization, according to its announcement of the results.
Held in memory of Keagan Mac O'Connor, the tournament raised more than $10,000 to support the nonprofit's work, the organization reported.
