outdoor

A couple of years ago, GWS staff had the opportunity to imagine their dream school. In many of those dreams, GWS had outdoor learning spaces. Mr. Burnell and staff quickly got to work writing grants and clearing spaces to make those dreams a reality.

Fast forward a couple of years, and GWS now has multiple outdoor classrooms that teachers and students can use to enhance their learning. These spaces, however, take a lot of work and upkeep to remain usable.

Andrew Daskoski has been working with GWS on the outdoor classrooms to complete his Eagle project. In order to become an Eagle Scout, he had to complete his project before he turned 18. Andrew is in Troop 338, and he has been in Cub Scouts since 1st grade. He put a ton of work into the outdoor classrooms here at GWS.

Andrew started his project in March and worked very hard to make the outdoor classrooms usable and beautiful spaces. We are so lucky to have had his help and we are very grateful for his dedication!
