An anonymous parent in our district thought that teachers were having a particularly hard time this year and wondered how to help.
The idea of a massage chair for our schools sounded like an amazing one! There was a resounding “Yes!” of support, even from people outside our district and state. People were so happy to have a way to show their appreciation for teachers and staff!
There was a search for the massage chairs (they were all used, to stay in our budget of $300 per chair) and driving around to pick them up from all over - Dover and Rindge in NH, and Lunenburg and West Boylston MA. It was important to find ones that massage the legs as well as the back because teachers are on their feet all day.
The fundraiser that started out as hoping to be able to provide a few chairs, within a few days, the fundraiser blew up and was able to raise enough money to provide a chair for each of the five schools in our district! Now the teachers and school staff in our district are able to enjoy a luxurious chair massage whenever they have time to visit the staff room!!
