Senior service learning project

On Wednesday, May 17, MHS senior Matt Seppala officially opened the school's first Remote Control (RC) car race track with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  The culmination of a year-long project that was a partnership of the MHS Career Pathways class and the local nonprofit Work Opportunities Unlimited, Matt researched, designed, and installed the RC track with the help of several staff and students.  Matt's goal of installing the track at the school is to leave a legacy for others interested in the sport to enjoy and continue.  Matt's passion for RC cars started at a young age. He hopes a club will form to help encourage the sport to grow in the community.  Over 50 students and staff attended the ceremony in support of Matt and his project.
