SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Cullen St. Cyr won two events - the javelin and the discus - to help the Marshwood High School boys track team to a second-place finish in a four-team meet Wednesday.

St. Cyr, a senior, won the javelin with a throw of 143 feet, 10 inches, the discus at 132-5, and was named Wednesday's Seacoast Standout.

The Hawks scored 75 points in the meet, losing to Scarborough (77). Cheverus (62) and Falmouth (49) placed third and fourth, respectively.

"I came into the meet feeling good after practice the day before," St. Cyr said. "I made it my goal to go out there and just compete. I was really excited to be back in that competitive environment. All the guys that I competed with are truly great athletes.

.Marshwood head coach Matt Sanzone said St. Cyr has had an excellent start to his senior season.

"And wins like (Wednesday) are a direct byproduct of all of the work that he puts into training every day," Sanzone said. "He's a great teammate and a natural leader for our program. I think he's just scratching the surface of what he can accomplish."

"“I decided I was going to go out there and have a day," St. Cyr said. "Go full throttle and give it my best."
