On Tuesday, June 3rd, the Sophomore class wrapped up their series on “Gritty” individuals with a presentation by Adam Scharff. His talk, titled
“What is True for Guitar is True for Life,”
began with a medley of songs performed on his electric guitar. After the mini concert, Adam shared how the lessons he’s learned through a life of music can be applied to overcoming life’s challenges. He reminded students that life can be tough and rarely easy, but the most important thing is to simply start. Anything worthwhile is difficult in the beginning, but with consistent, focused effort, what he called “perfect practice”, you improve, and the task becomes easier. Adam also encouraged students to lean into their natural talents and pursue their passions.
