ELO Presentation at Hall of Flags

Last week, Olivia participated in a Maine Department of Education presentation at the Hall of Flags Ceremony in Augusta at the State Capitol, where she helped highlight student-centered learning and college- and career-connected pathways.

Over the past year and a half, Olivia’s Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) work has focused on the essential question: What skills, knowledge, and training are necessary to successfully complete, revise, and publish a novel?

During this time, she has completed a full draft of her novel—exceeding 100,000 words—while developing and applying a research-based revision process. She is now nearing completion of her second draft.

Following graduation, Olivia plans to continue working with outside experts to explore publishing opportunities. She was also recently featured on the Maine Department of Education’s ELO website.
