Community Heart Screening Coming to Marshwood High School Aug. 17

Marshwood High School will host a community heart screening event on Monday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The nonprofit organization, Who We Play For, will provide electrocardiogram (ECG) screenings for students and young adults ages 10 to 25.

According to Who We Play For, ECG screenings can help identify certain heart conditions that may not be detected during a routine physical examination. Each screening takes approximately five minutes to complete, and every ECG is interpreted by a board-certified pediatric cardiologist.

“Protecting our students goes beyond the game,” said Rich Buzzell, the district athletic administrator. “Their health, safety, and future matter every day, and we’re proud to help provide this important screening opportunity to our community as part of our unwavering commitment to student wellness.”
