Image of Public Notice announcing period for public comments until Sept 2 2026 for proposed crossing between Punkin Rd and the entrance to MHS

MaineDOT is seeking public input on a proposed traffic signal and pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Route 236 and Punkintown Road near the entrance of Marshwood High School in South Berwick.

The Maine Department of Transportation has opened an on-demand public meeting for the project, which would include installation of a traffic signal and a municipality-funded pedestrian crossing at the intersection.

Unlike a traditional public meeting held at a specific time, the on-demand meeting can be viewed online at any time during the comment period. Community members can review information about the proposed project and submit comments or questions directly to MaineDOT staff.

The formal comment period is open through Sept. 2, 2026.
