Marshwood Middle School came together for a heartfelt Veterans Day Assembly that honored the courage and sacrifice of veterans and first responders. This year’s program held special meaning as the community recognized two distinguished World War II veterans whose service and stories continue to inspire generations. Students, staff, and families filled the gymnasium in a powerful display of gratitude, pausing to reflect on the bravery of all who have defended freedom and the values our nation holds dear.

Each grade level contributed meaningful presentations that showcased both creativity and respect. The eighth grade teams did a presentation about the Four Freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from fear, freedom from want. These principles were a key part of World War II goals, symbolizing a vision for post-war world. The freedoms were illustrated by Norman Rockwell- and our eighth graders also shared some of there artistic representations. Grades six and seven focused their presentations on being keepers of veteran stories. Sharing how learning about veterans will stay with them and help shape who they become. The assembly reflected Marshwood Middle School’s deep appreciation for our veterans and the powerful lessons of honor, sacrifice, and community they represent.
