Dear MMS Families,
The Marshwood Middle School PTO is back for the 2026–2027 school year, and we’d love to have you be part of it!
The Marshwood Growing Hawks PTO is a combined PTO supporting students and staff in grades 4–8 at Jerry Burnell Great Works School and Marshwood Middle School. Our goal is to strengthen our school community and provide opportunities, experiences, and support for our students and staff.
What Does the PTO Do?
This year, the MMS PTO is working toward:
Enhancing learning and growth opportunities for students and educators
Strengthening connections between families, schools, and our local community
Providing financial and volunteer support to enrich the school experience
Supporting events and initiatives throughout the school year
Our big initiative this year is a fundraiser that can become the only primary fundraiser for MMS each year. Funds raised will help support things such as outdoor initiatives, student activities, educational and memorable field trips, community-building events, and more!
You Can Help in Whatever Way Works for You!
We understand that families are busy, so you do NOT have to commit to volunteering regularly to be involved.
You can:
Attend monthly meetings – Approximately one hour to connect with other parents and help plan events and initiatives.
Join the PTO text chain – Share ideas, get event updates, and help when you can. Text 802-578-7460 to join.
Join the PTO email list – Receive updates about meetings, events, and occasional requests for help.
Sign up through SignUp Genius – Keep an eye out for volunteer or donation opportunities throughout the year.
Volunteering is optional when it works for you, but it is ALWAYS appreciated! And yes—moms, dads, caregivers, grandparents, and any adult involved in an MMS student's life are welcome!
