Meet Ms. Young: Alisha Young is our new Administrative Assistant in Our Front Office.
*Where did you grow up and go to school?
I grew up in Hanover, MA, and attended public school there.
*Where did you attend college?
I went to the University of Maine in Orono and majored in Elementary Education.
*Why did you want to become a teacher?
I loved playing school while growing up and used my Barbies as students! I come from a large family and always loved being around kids. I had wonderful teachers that made a positive impact on my life. I wanted to do the same and have a positive impact on others.
*Was there a particular person in your life that was your role model or impacted you?
I am NOT a musically talented person at all, but I had the BEST music teacher all through high school. He was genuine and made every student feel important and he made learning fun!
*Why do you like working with kids?
Kids are the greatest teachers and have taught me so much throughout my career and helped to mold me into the person I am today. They bring a smile to my face every day and make me laugh so hard that my stomach hurts!
*What are some things you enjoy when not in school?
I enjoy my family, my friends, my dog and I LOVE to be outside!
*What are some of your hobbies or interests?
I love to camp, hike, and fish. I enjoy fly fishing, which is my newest hobby. And I love to cook!

I have a son, Bennett, who is 2 1/2 years old, and a dog, Ruby.
