Horror Fiction

Ms. Gilpatrick and Ms. Corriveau have been working hard  highlight Young Adult books for families and students. This year they are trying something new: Genre of the Month. This month the genre goes along with some of our favorite things about October: Horror.

WHAT IS HORROR?

Horror is fiction written to scare, shock, or startle you! Horror stories are designed to evoke fear from the audience. Horror often incorporates supernatural/paranormal elements.

WHY SHOULD YOU GIVE THIS GENRE A CHANCE?

If you love watching scary movies or sharing creepy stories around a campfire, you should try reading some horror stories! If you have a wild imagination and don’t mind creeping yourself out, give it a try. The worst it can do is scare you!

Phoenix a seventh grader and avid reader recommends Follow Me by K. R. Alexander. She has read many of K.R. Alexander books and this is a favorite of hers.
