Marshwood Honoring our Veterans District Celebrations November 2026

Students at Eliot Elementary, Marshwood Middle School and Jerry Burnell Great Works School will honor veterans with celebrations featuring student tributes, music and opportunities to gather with families.

Here’s what each school has planned:

Eliot Elementary — Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 9 a.m.

All are welcome to gather on the front lawn at the flagpole. Students from every grade will participate, and veterans will have a place of honor. The rain date is Thursday, Nov. 5.

Marshwood Middle School — Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The school’s 26th Veterans Day assembly will honor veterans, active military members and first responders. Guests should arrive by 8:30 a.m. for a greeting from students and staff before the program begins. Students will share spoken, musical and video tributes, with a reception following the assembly. Veterans, active military members, first responders and their families are invited to attend at 626 Dow Highway in Eliot.

Jerry Burnell Great Works School — Monday, Nov. 9, from 9 to 10:10 a.m.

The annual assembly in the school gymnasium will feature the chorus, fifth-grade band, student essays thanking veterans and remarks from veterans. A breakfast reception for veterans and their families will follow in the cafeteria and conclude at 11 a.m. Families inviting a veteran should return guest information to their child’s teacher by Thursday, Nov. 5.

We look forward to welcoming our guests and thanking them for their service.
