Marshwood JV Volleyball took down Sanford in 3 sets. The JV girls hustled in every play and through great teamwork, they prevailed!
Varsity came up short in their season opener but battled in every point. Mia Constantakos had a strong match offensively and defensively. Avery Dudley led the hawks as well
MHS XC results:
The Marshwood girls finished 2nd in a 5 team meet, beating Gotham, Kennebunk, and Windham, while falling to Bonny Eagle. Seniors Addie Fuller (2nd overall), Emma Tessier(8th) and Maggie Chamberlain(9th) led the way for the Hawks. The boys team finished third behind Kennebunk and Bonny Eagle, beating Gotham and Windham. Freshman Henri Rivard (3rd overall) and senior Hayden Sawyer (5th) were the top Hawk finishers.
Marshwood hosts Cheverus, TA and Windham at home on the Great Works School course this Thursday and 4 pm.

Lilli Hammond scored the first one on a long high shot, and Rowan Waddell scored off Lilli’s corner kick for the game winner in the second half.
Sam Arnold was incredible in net w 10 saves.

Boys soc win 3-0. Wyatt Yager (2 goals, 1 ast) led the Hawks to a 3-0 win vs Thornton Acad in their 1st game of the season. Declan Fitzgerald scored as well. Milo Closson recorded an assist. Jason Singer anchored a strong defense that blocked 8 shots & Andrew Perry made 8 saves.
The Marshwood Athletic Dept would like to extend our deepest sympathy to our Football coach Alex Rotsko who lost his dad on Thursday Sept 1 (Alex Rotsko, Sr) at the age of 92 yrs. Alex Sr was often seen at MHS supporting his son and our teams since Coach was hired in 2012.
Anyone looking for a great community service opportunity by former MHS grad (Taylar Schoff) is running in Stratham, NH called TopSoccer. TopSoccer is an adaptive program for kids in our community all across Maine/New Hampshire. Taylar's contact is in the flier attached

Shelby Anderson becomes the first Marshwood Track athlete to place at the New England Championships, finishing 2nd in Javelin with a school record throw of 131 - 6. Congratulations Shelby!!
