Two Marshwood athletes are up for athlete of the week! Sarah Theriault, Marshwood, lacrosse Theriault scored six goals and added one assist to lead Marshwood to a 17-7 Class A preliminary round win over Sanford last Tuesday, and added another three goals in the Hawks' upset win over Thornton on Friday. Ben Garrepy, Marshwood, baseball Garrepy became a hero for Marshwood as his RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in the winning run in the Hawks' 2-1 win over Massabesic in a Class A South preliminary game. Also, Garrepy doubled for one of his two hits, and scored a run in the loss to South Portland on Saturday. June 20-23 Great News from Marshwood Middle School SUMMER CLIMBING CHALLENGE COURSE CAMP @ MMS Challenge Course Camp at Marshwood Middle School An Experiential Learning program that builds confidence, self-esteem, trust, and cooperative skills in a challenging and supportive environment. Facilitated by Renee Caverly Physical Education Teacher - Marshwood Middle School For 2nd-8th graders: Tuesday through Thursday 6/20-6/23, from 9:00-12:00 What is The Challenge Course Camp? It’s a place where kids come to stretch their comfort zones, challenge themselves physically, socially, and mentally, and have fun! We base the program on developing and implementing trust, cooperation, safe risk-taking, and teamwork. The camp is located inside the MMS gym. The challenge course is an indoor ropes course with various low and high climbing elements. Kids will learn about climbing hardware, harnesses and helmets, belay techniques, and climbing protocols. They will participate in Initiatives designed to promote teamwork, sharing, and goal setting. They then progress from low elements to high elements, always working together to meet their goals, A key part of the program is the reflection piece, where kids are asked to apply the learnings they have realized to real-life situations. Congratulations to Shelby Anderson who won the New England Championship in Javelin. Her winning throw of 130-3 was a season best and Shelby became the first Marshwood Track and Field athlete to win a NE title.   Congratulations to Rowan Carter who finished 3rd in the 200 meter dash at today’s New England Track and Field championships.  Rowan became the first All-New England athlete for the boys team in school history and his time of 22.01 broke the school record! His teammate Andre Clark finished 9th in the 100 & the 200, and the boys 4x100 team of Jonny Sawyer, Clark, Harrison Page, and Carter finished 10th

Congratulations to the Marshwood girls track team who had several excellent performances from their seniors at the Class A state meet. Shelby Anderson was 2nd in Javelin, Lauryn Cruz was 3rd in Shot Put, Addie Fuller was 4th in the 3200 and Emma Tessier was 6th in the 800.
