From Coach Childs The Hawks hosted Kennebunk for their 2nd match up with the opponent in 5 days. Our girls started most sets on with a good pace but lost focus at times. The biggest take away of the night is our captains finding their voice and encouraging their teammates all night. Although we were 7-3 going into the night, we needed a statement win. Kennebunk is a very good team and we showed people what we are capable of doing. Renee St.Pierre led with 6 aces. Captain Kylie Folger led with 17 digs. Nellie Young led with 20 kills and 8 blocks! Brynn Folger had another big game with 27 assists. Marshwood 25-Kennebunk-23 Marshwood 14-Kennebunk-25 Marshwood 25-Kennebunk-23 Marshwood 25-13

The Hawks lost in three straight sets at York Thursday night. It was scrappy from the start for both teams. Marshwood suffered an injury earlier to their starting lineup but fought on. Our girls stayed hungry, matching York on opportunities. In the end York put balls away on offense and Marshwood did not. We are still pleased and proud of our girls for keeping their heads high til the last point. Nellie Young led in blocks with 7. Sivan Semo led in kills with 3. Brynn Folger led with 11 assists. Kylie Folger led in digs with 10. Marshwood 10- York 25 Marshwood 14- York 25 Marshwood 18- York 25

Marshwood takes down Portland in 3 straight sets! Hawks Volleyball played a little tight at the start of set one down by 5 points mid set. What makes this team so special is the fight they have for each other and courage to stand tall in moments of adversity. There is a hunger and desire in these girls to improve and move forward and not look back. Captain Sivan Semo led that charge. Nellie Young had 5 big blocks and just as many kills. Riley Phipps led in team aces with 3. Libero Captain Kylie Folger led with 15 digs. Brynn Folger set the pace of the offense beautifully with 17 assists! It was a balanced team effort to start the season 2-0. Coach Childs Marshwood 26- Portland 24 Marshwood 25- Portland 16 Marshwood 25- Portland 21
