Sophomore Kylie Folger led in team digs(7). Junior Captain Sivan Semo led in blocks(3) and kills(9). Junior Captain Averi Dudley led in assists with 13.

On a night filled with excitement and buzz for Dig Pink, our girls battled all night and took South Portland to a 5th set. It was down to the wire and the Hawks came through to upset SOPO. Captain Sivan Semo led the team in kills(10) and blocks(5). Captain Kate England led the team in aces(5). Captain Averi Dudley led the game in assists with (18). Sophomore Libero Kylie led the team in digs with (5).

Good News from Marshwood High School
Fall College & Career Fair 2023
On Wednesday, October 4th, Marshwood High School hosted its annual Fall College & Career Fair. In total, over 60 representatives from colleges, the military, and local area employers met with students in grades 10-12 to discuss the multitude of options that they have for their future.
The representatives commented that MHS students were engaged, and asked well articulated and insightful questions.





In Mrs. Lalos's Advanced Foods class, students have been learning the "Art of Plating Food". Check out the photos to see some of the students' work!

Mr. Hoogterp announced today that Jaelin Trager and Bradley Wentworth have been named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Program, which conducts the program, has been presented to these scholastically talented seniors. Congratulations to you both!

Marshwood volleyball loses a tough one to Cheverus. The game was filled with some awesome rallies but in the end not enough for the Hawks. Kate England lead in team digs with 5. Sivan Semo and Nellie Young lead the team with 5 kills each. Sivan added 4 blocks to her night and Averi lead the team in assists with 7.

Just a reminder of our celebration for Coach Rix to honor him by naming the Matt Rix Wrestling Center at MHS. The celebration in his honor will be held in the MHS Auditorium. Please join the ceremony that will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 2:00 pm.

Hawks Volleyball wins over Wells High School in 3 straight sets. Wells had a strong team but it was Marshwood's night. Our offense came alive to match our defensive tenacity for the first time this season.

Good News from the HS:
After finishing a unit on TASTE, Mrs. Lalos' Introduction to Foods and Nutrition class participated in a Blind Folded Taste Test. They tasted four flavors of yogurt.
Once with their noses plugged and once with their sense of smell intact.




Good News from the HS:
Mike Eruzione, a former ice hockey player and captain of the 1980 US Olympic National Team, will be on a zoom call this Friday with Mr. Zamarchi's Sport in the Western World class. This is part of their Olympic unit and it will be great for the class to hear from an olympian himself!

Tonight was the first night of the season Hawks Volleyball pulled together as a team to show we can overcome adversity. Younger players and older players finally came together as a collective unit to produce the first win of the season!

Our helmet stickers came in just in time for our 1st game. We will be honoring William K "Doc" Gilbert on our FB helmets this year. Doc Gilbert passed July 27 & spent 6 decades on our sideline as our the team doctor! Ceremony on homecoming to honor him with his family on Sept 29!


8/30 golf match at Kennebunk has been postponed. Marshwood will play at Kennebunk in a make up on Mon Sept 18 at 3:45 pm w a 2:20 bus
