Marshwood High School Recognizes Three Commended Students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program
Mr. Brett Hoogterp, Marshwood High School Principal, is proud to announce that Jared Herrin, Leah Maddison, and Riley St. Pierre have been named Commended Students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 PSAT. Congratulations to Jared, Leah, and Riley for this impressive accomplishment.
Marshwood High School College Career and Military Fair
The MHS School Counseling Department hosted a College/Career/Military Fair. Sixty-eight representatives from colleges, the military, and local businesses met with students and families to share information about post-secondary options! Another fair is being planned for spring 2023. More information will be shared when it is available.
Sports update:
MHS XC results: The Marshwood Hawks competed in the 21st annual Maine XC Festival of Champions in Belfast. The girls team finished 4th out of 55 teams and were led by Addie Fuller, who was a medalist in the seeded race, finishing 10th overall. Sarah McClellan was the #2 scorer and Maya Sanzone was the #3, earning medalist status in the freshman race with a 9th place finish. Emma Tessier and Alana Day rounded out the Hawks scoring with strong races. On the boys side, Henri Rivard was the story of the day, winning the freshman race with an incredible kick to lead the Hawks. Nate Kelley also earned medalist status with a 7th place finis in the freshman race while teammate Luke Dockham medaled with a runner up finish in the boys unseeded race. Gehrig Hatch and Ben Byrd rounded out the Hawks scoring with the boys finishing 19th out of 59.
Good morning everybody,
We are welcoming back Danish students to MHS this year, Oct 11-15.
For four years prior to the pandemic, each autumn a group of students from Denmark stayed with Marshwood families as part of their trip to the United States.
This year, 30 students are visiting (with their two chaperones), which is the most we have ever hosted. We already have 18 families signed up to host, which is also the most ever. But, we still need spots for 4 students.
I know it's very late notice, but please let me know if you (or anyone you might know) are interested in hosting a student. Thanks!

Marshwood Volleyball loses 3-1 to a very good Scarborough team. The gym was rocking with the girls playing amazing. Each team member fought hard to take a set. Best match of the season. Total team effort!

MHS scored 3 first half goals. Graham Pruyne opened the scoring on a cross from Rowan Carter. Milo Closson scored a header from a James Melino free kick. Jason Singer corner kick for the final Marshwood goal.

Hawks volleyball lose to Windham 3-1. A game of great highlights but not enough to overcome errors. Captains Mia Constantakos and Taylor LaBreck were all over the court tonight! Sivan Semo had a strong game at the net.
