Today Marshwood Middle School students went to see a preview of our district production of Elf the Musical. it was a holly, jolly good time!
Dungeons & Dragons Club is now official and ready to “Roll”! Our first Gathering will be Monday November 20th, after school. Those intrepid heroes who dare join our ranks, please seek out Ms. Ro to sign up before Friday, November 17th, and prepare for the quest of a lifetime!
7th grade students had blast at the Ice-Scream social! A big thank you to Student Council, 7th grade teachers and all the families that donated to to the IceScream Social!
Check out the sixth grade social scientists! Students in Mrs. Butler's and Mrs. Lawson's Social Studies classes are trying their hands at the social sciences- studying human behavior and society. The students are exploring artifacts, making inferences in an excavation activity and learning about how historians discover the ancient world.
Last week MMS Band and Chorus classes enjoyed performances by the Blue Hawks.
Are you ready for Wednesday night? We are going to have a fun night at MMS! Please join us for either Dodgeball or Dungeons and Dragons. In the gym there will be a Dodgeball tournament. Get your groups of 5 kids together or sign up as an individual player to be added to a team. At the same time there will be a Dungeons and Dragons campaign happening. Both events cost $5.00 to play. The money will be going to help the Community Closet in Room 107. The event is from 5:30 to 7:00. Permission slips are on the gym doors. Turn your permission slip into Mrs. Caverly. .

Student Council is holding its annual SPOOKTASTIC VIRTUAL PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST. There are 6 different categories that you can enter your creation(s) in. A PADLET link has been pushed out to you through your social studies Google Classroom--be on the lookout. The contest runs until Monday, Oct. 30th. Winners will be announced Tuesday, Oct. 31st.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE SCREAM!
The seventh grade team would like to invite all current 7th graders to a spooky ice scream social. Costumes are encouraged but are not required. (School appropriate) Enjoy a make your own sundae bar, music and open gym time. Catch up with old friends and make some new ones.

8th grade students enrolled in Spanish 1 were asked to respond to the question '¿De dónde eres?' (Where are you from?) after listening to their teacher read aloud the book ¿De dónde eres? by Yamile Saied Méndez. In this book, a young girl is asked this question by her classmates, but with the additional comment of 'but really.' The girl, confused, asks her grandfather where she is from. He answers her by describing the geography, people, animals, feelings, and histories of the various places her family comes from. Students were asked to do the same; to choose one element that best describes , for them, where they are from, and to describe that in Spanish words and with a visual.
October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and we will be focusing on one of our core values: fairness. Fairness is impartial or just treatment and behavior without favoritism or discrimination. Choose each day to act in a way that is fair and kind for all.

Did you know that KINDTOBER starts next week? To kick-off KINDTOBER Student Council is inviting students to participate in simple acts of kindness. Monday is “ANOYMOUS DEED MONDAY” Do something nice for someone, without telling them. Have some fun and spread KINDNESS!
Mrs. Wood is working with the MMS students to unlock their culinary potential with exciting cooking lessons! Take a look at the mouthwatering dishes these middle schoolers put together. The sixth graders made English muffin pizzas, the 7th graders made fried rice and the 8th graders made croque monsieur from France after studying a bit about France.
